THE DAY THE SUN STANDS STILL
This collection of flammables is made in honor of the Winter Solstice (Southern Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere / Winterzonnewende in Dutch), which takes place on the 21st of December this year. It is the shortest day and the longest night of the year, the day when the sun appears to stand still. On this day, we may celebrate with ceremonial burning to thank darkness and welcome the returning light.

LIGHTNESS TORCHES
Also known as Neptune Torches or Witch’s Candles, Mullein Torches have traditionally been used as a source of light and as tools in celebrations and ceremonies. These torches can be used both indoors and outdoors and are a planet- and animal-friendly alternative to fireworks. Each torch is crafted from locally sourced Mullein shafts, which are dried over several weeks and coated in plant-based wax. The torches come in vacuum-sealed packaging and can be shipped worldwide or picked up at the studio.

Instructions:
Insert the torch into the ground, a heavy vessel, or remove the base and place it in a non-flammable holder. Trim the tip to expose the mullein stalk, then light it. A mullein torch burns steadily, about 15 minutes per 3 cm, and is best used in one session. If needed, you can extinguish it by dipping it in water and trimming the stalk for later use. These torches produce minimal smoke, making them safe for indoor use. Always practice fire safety.

Safety:
Never leave a burning torch unattended. Keep away from flammable materials, animals, and children.
